Site Reliability Engineer – Schiphol, North Holland – €65,000 Base Salary – Opportunity to work with cutting-edge Biometric Technology

Our client is a multinational organisation that specialises in providing identity management and biometric recognition solutions.

They are looking for talented Site Reliability Engineers to test, deploy and configure innovative biometric systems for one of their main customers in the Netherlands.

The organisation builds state-of-the-art systems and solutions that utilise biometrics. By combining facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, and iris recognition, they are able to enhance security, streamline processes, and improve passenger experiences for their client base.

The Opportunity:

You’ll be responsible for testing, configuring and deploying new systems with integrated biometric capabilities, identifying faults with these systems and escalating these when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and participate in routine system maintenance techniques.
  • Proactively locate defects on-site and remotely. When mistakes and defects arise, guide/perform break/fix actions and respond to escalated issues.
  • Engage with on-site customers, and virtual customers, and participate in proactive communication with the worldwide ITOps community.
  • Proactive system performance analysis.
  • Support other members of the team by taking part in the training, coaching, and mentoring of Technical Support Specialists.
  • Create, maintain, and update documentation, as well as add to training materials.

Ideal Requirements for this Role:

  • Solid knowledge of network protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP, AMQP, NTP, SNMP)
  • Experience in Automation development (Powershell, Python, Bash)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins and Nexus)
  • Solid understanding of IT security (TLS, Vulnerability assessments, OWASP top 10)
  • Understanding of data stream platforms, message brokers and queues
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes – Desirable
  • Fluency in Dutch – Desirable
