Senior Operations Manager

Role Summary:

The role of the Senior Operations Manager is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of various critical aspects of the business. You will be responsible for overseeing finance, information security, people operations, talent acquisition, and general administration. This position involves close collaboration with different teams, including their carbon experts, product and engineering teams, and the commercial team, thereby contributing significantly to the success of the company.

This role carries the opportunity for future growth in service delivery within the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial operations, including client invoicing, vendor payments, bank transfers, and monthly accounts, while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Oversee payroll, employee-related financial matters, and expense documentation.
  • Lead information security projects and day-to-day matters, ensuring compliance, access monitoring, completing supplier questionnaires, and third-party reviews, and maintaining the information security calendar.
  • Manage and maintain people operations processes such as onboarding, offboarding, health insurance, and IT requests.

Additional Duties:

  • Support hiring managers in talent acquisition processes, including overseeing agencies, monitoring hiring procedures, and ensuring a high-quality candidate experience.
  • Aid in candidate sourcing and screening with assistance from hiring managers.
  • Assist in various operational facets required for an early-stage business, including managing supplier contracts, office management, insurance management, all-company materials and meetings preparation, and organizing team-building activities.

Future Responsibilities in Service Delivery:

  • Enhance and take ownership of internal processes.
  • Manage outsourced providers and processes.
  • Own task tracking and distribution related to service delivery.
  • Maintain process documentation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in operations, process management, service management, or a similar role, preferably within an early-stage business.
  • Strong background in designing, implementing, and managing efficient processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, identifying areas for process improvement by thinking in systemic terms.
  • Action-oriented with a focus on productivity, completion, and iterative improvement.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies is advantageous.
