About the Senior Microsoft Azure Platform Engineer:

The Azure Platform Engineer would lead a team of 5 engineers who monitor and manage the technology foundations that underpin the company’s IT services to ensure they are reliable and secure. Your responsibilities will include:

– Identifying solutions – Collaboratively establish Azure options

– Design/delivery support – Advise on design, development, and integration of providing a consultancy service

– Continuous improvement – Help teams learn and improve implementation of new apps, monitoring and common design patterns. Responsible for delivering continual service improvements and transformational activities surrounding C, use of the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform and working closely with our 3rd party MSP who manage our platform

– Incident fulfilment – The team also provide 3rd-line support for issues escalated by the Service Desk. Would work closely with technical stakeholders providing advice, assistance and assurance on solution identification, design, development, and integration

– Change management – Peer review and approve changes that would impact services/products and platforms that are operated by CS&P functions. The expectation of this role is also to train/upskill other members of the CS&P team on the MS Azure Cloud Platform

While your responsibilities are outlined above, you will also be expected to support your team with:

  • Design/Delivery Assurance – Assist with the specification of apps in Azure to ensure the selection of appropriate Azure services
  • Technical Compliance – Sit on the Technical Design Authority (TDA) to ensure common design patterns and standards are defined and adhered to
  • Solution Documentation – Provide relevant materials to teams’ design documentation
  • Investigating and resolving operational issues
  • Proof of Concepts – Appropriate deployment of Azure tech to enable approval by stakeholders

Ideal Requirements for This Role:

· Experienced Azure Administrator/Project Consultant

· Alternatively, an Azure Engineer/Technical Consultant who has worked on internal Azure platforms for businesses before

· Providing technical advice to other team members, including other staff, investors, and the 3rd party supplier

· Awareness of CI/CD pipelines and their implementation and how to support them in an Azure environment

· Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates, DSC, BICEP or Terraform)

· Azure Active Directory (AD)

· Design experience with Azure would be beneficial – design, build and maintain secure cloud infrastructure

· Hands-on experience deploying Azure

· Experience and knowledge of SQL Services and Managed instances would be beneficial

· Virtual Networking

· Microsoft Azure Administrator certification as well as any other relevant Microsoft qualifications
