Senior AI Expert – HealthAI – The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health – Geneva – Hybrid

HealthAI (formerly known as I-DAIR) is a Geneva-based non-profit organization focused on the use of Responsible AI in the health sector. It has recently launched a new strategy to work with countries to expand their capacity to regulate AI in health systems by establishing and supporting in-country regulatory mechanisms. Similar to the process for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, these regulatory mechanisms review, validate, and certify AI technologies against standards of safety, ethics, and efficacy. By working closely with international organisations, implementing global standards and forging connections between countries, HealthAI strengthens the global ecosystem that puts safe, effective AI tools in the hands of health workers and patients around the world.

Your expertise in AI will be crucial in ensuring that the regulatory frameworks and validation processes developed are robust, effective, and aligned with the latest advancements in AI technology. In this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of AI to inform and shape policies and guidelines that govern AI applications in

  • Development of a Global Regulatory Network: Establish information management systems for rapid notification of adverse AI events and best practice sharing within the Global Regulatory Network.
  • Development of an AI Solution Repository: Drive the development of a repository of validated AI solutions for health. Ensure the repository reflects the latest innovations and meets diverse healthcare needs globally.

  • Collaborative Leadership with International Initiatives: Actively engage with initiatives such as WHO’s Global Initiative on AI for Health and collaborate with groups like the OECD to enhance HealthAI’s influence and effectiveness in AI governance.
  • Risk Management and Ethical AI Deployment: Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with AI deployment in healthcare. Ensure that all AI initiatives adhere to the highest ethical standards and responsible AI practices.
  • Operational Duties: Given the startup nature of HealthAI you will not shy away from supporting the leadership team as necessary in running the company with respect to budgeting, and reporting as well as supporting IT operational topics such as managing vendors, introducing AI automation and further developing the internal control framework.
