Rate: £600 a day within IR35

Our client, a prominent Telecommunications company, is currently seeking an experienced Security Consultant to join their esteemed team. We are looking for a highly skilled professional with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience to play a pivotal role in enhancing our cybersecurity measures.

Role Overview:

As a Security Consultant, you will take on a 6-month extendable contract position and sit within IR35. Your primary responsibility will be to bolster the organization’s cybersecurity and SIEM as part of a large GCP migration project.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive hands-on experience in threat research and crafting, testing, and fine-tuning threat detection content for SIEM & EDR platforms (e.g., Elastic Security, ArcSight, Microsoft Sentinel)
• Solid experience with GCP and ideally worked in GCP migration projects before
• At least 2 years of experience as a SOC analyst
• Deep knowledge of attacker Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), MITRE ATT&CK framework, and APT groups.
• Proficiency in standard security technologies and infrastructure components, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, Active Directory, IDS/IPS, firewalls, network security protocols
• Strong programming and scripting skills, with a preference for Elastic query languages and Python.
• Proficient in developing regular expressions.
• Familiarity with data source onboarding/engineering, threat intelligence, threat hunting, blue/purple teaming, incident response, and digital forensics.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to create clear and concise technical summaries.

Contract Details:

• Initial 6-month contract, with extensions
• Fully remote, maybe 1 day per month on-site
• Up to £600 p/day within IR35
