The Role

You will take responsibility for security within both our clients our own internal IT systems as well as in the network and software solutions that they supply to their end customers.

You will also be ensuring the ongoing security management of their company systems and processes.

Main Responsibilities

• Day to day responsibility for security of in-house IT systems
• Development of IT security strategies and implementations to increase the security of applications and services used across group.
• Managing business response in event of cyber-attack or cyber incident including supporting recovery and restoration of systems and data.
• Working with the existing Network and Systems admin terms to ensure the security and integrity of back-ups, anti-virus systems and next gen firewalls
• Work with vendors to understand the security landscape and systems
• Maintaining certificates and ensuring security of data in transport and at rest.
• Maintaining and supporting the achievement of recognised security certification including Cyber Essentials, ISO27001.
• Ensure all systems comply with the relevant ISO standards and provide support in preparation of security related policies, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

• Relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent IT certification in cyber security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security (or similar)
• Industry recognised Security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SSCP)
• Excellent knowledge of Network, Cloud and Application security best practices
• Experience of delivering security policies and solutions within the IT sector.
• Experience of cloud security architecture within both public and private cloud services including Azure/AWS.
• The ability to create clear documentation relating to operational process and procedure
• Experience with web related technologies (Web applications, Web services, Web Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
• Excellent understanding of the TCP/IP suite.
• Vulnerability Assessments Penetration testing
• Full Driving License
• DBS Standard check required

Desirable

• An understanding/experience of SIEMs would be advantageous
• Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
• Technical cloud related qualifications (e.g., Azure Specific certifications, GSEC)
• Skills developed within a training platform like Capture the Flag, Hack the Box, Vulnhub.
• Knowledge of Python other programming languages
• CEH experience
• Knowledge of network debugging tools and packet capturing
• Knowledge of Email Gateways and Web Proxy Servers
• Strong Network fundamentals CCNA or CCNP level qualification (or similar)
