Team and Role Overview

Ensure that they maintain a robust and resilient environment across all their business lines. The CEO Office supports all areas of the business and corporate functions ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated in line with both Policy and Regulations. The CEO Office is expanding and is looking for an individual to drive the Operational Resilience agenda ensuring the consistent management and mitigation of non-financial risk.

The role holder will work extensively with the partner business lines, shared operations and the C-Suite, as well as within the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Resilience

· Responsible for the drafting of the annual Operational Resilience attestation to the Board.

· Work with our Important Business Services to ensure that their scenarios, mappings and vulnerability reports are produced to the expected standard and in line with policy.

· Be the point of contact for first-line Operational Resilience related matters.

· Represent in any group Operational Resilience programmes and/or workshops.

· Ensure any Operational Resilience relating tooling is appropriate for the firm a

· Ensure adherence to the Group Operational Risk Management Policy.

· Provide central first-line oversight of the Important Business Services controls monitoring/assurance, ensure risks are identified, quantified, remediated and centrally recorded.

· Provide central first-line challenge to the Important Business Service control environment with a view to improving existing risk profiles and controls.

· Ensure that any Group Operational Resilience changes are implemented and embedded

· Increase awareness/focus on Operational Resilience across the company by providing continued education & implementing an Operational Resilience focussed culture across the businesses, at all levels.

CEO office 1st line Operational resilience/risk

· Represent the CEO Office in all Business Control Forums.

· Review / challenge the Operational Risk impact to new projects, ensuring the right controls are in place to mitigate/reduce any existing or new risks introduced.

· As required participate in the Incident Management process, providing support to the Business lines in ensuring the right actions are in place to avoid future re-occurrences.

· Creation of governance reporting as required e.g. central reporting to ORC.

· Perform risk deep dives on behalf of the CEO on specific processes/ business lines to ensure that controls are effective and risks are correctly being identified.

· Represent the CEO Office on the Resilience Committee (ResCo).

· Work with 2nd line and business lines to streamline the risk and resilience process ensuring that whilst governance is maintained and appropriate any unnecessary processes or duplication of effort is removed.

· As required assist with the wider CEO Office team providing support to central programmes and/or reporting.

 

Candidate Profile

Experience and Knowledge

· Experience in the Financial Services industry preferably in an Operations/Product role.

· Knowledge of Operational Risk and Resilience and familiarity with recent trends and policies.

· Understanding of key Risk Management principles, controls, functions and interdependencies.

· Demonstrated cross-asset experience and knowledge.

· Full life cycle knowledge.

Skills

· Demonstrated experience in Senior stakeholder engagement including the production of Senior level material and presentations.

· Experience in leading projects or discrete workstreams, or being accountable for ongoing activities or objective

Behavioural Skills

· Self-starter, with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and a positive work attitude.

· Solve complex problems and bring new perspectives to existing solutions.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good attention to detail.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders.

· Ability to train and mentor more junior staff members
