About the Network Infrastructure Systems Engineer Role:
As the Network Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be working with customers to own the engineering methods and solution design for their main applications.
You will define innovative solutions to problems, ensure consistent delivery, and engineer methods to deliver essential capabilities.
Working across a wide variety of customers, you will be kept on your toes, not encountering the same pieces of work in each project, ensuring you will never get bored. Bringing your experience from other systems to each challenge will be key to your success.
Working collaboratively is key as you will often be the most senior technical person on a project; whilst working closely with other architects, engineers, BAs, etc to get the best out of the team; utilizing each person’s skill sets. Excellent communication internally and externally will be required.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the solution meets its functional and non-functional requirements, and the correct application of relevant technologies, processes, and toolchains. You will need to ensure that these various components and sub-systems work together both technically as well as operationally, from a customer mission perspective.
Your experience will cover software design, infrastructure, delivery methods, and engineering approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
– Prepare the design document and get it reviewed with the client
– Complete the development based on the design document
– Get the sign-off on the design-related deliverables
– Complete the Build
– Get the sign-off on the build-related deliverables
– Review the Unit test results, and Unit test the application
– Provide support for SIT defect troubleshooting
– Provide Support for UAT defect troubleshooting
– Deployment Support.
– Post-implementation support
Ideal Requirements for This Role:
You need to be eligible for SC Clearance
● You are a Senior-level engineer – with several years of experience in commercial roles
● You create clean, testable, and well-documented code – and always leave existing code in a better state than you found it
● They are looking for someone ready to join a team and contribute for the medium term at least – this is not a contract – they are in this for the long haul – and hope you are too
● You keep up to date with new and emerging technology and identify opportunities for its commercial application
● Because they are looking for people who can engage in the whole product process from time to time, they are looking for people able to think commercially, analyze and communicate
● They don’t like chaos and run an organized backlog with good roadmap visibility – but sometimes stuff gotta get done in a hurry – you have to be ready to lean in when needed
● Ready to participate – you need to be ready to bring ideas to the game – if you think they could do something better, faster, more elegantly, or less elegantly! Then they are ready to hear your opinions
