Role Overview

This is an exciting new role that will work closely with the Relationship Management (RM) Team which is responsible for the strategic and commercial relationship with UK branches. The individual will develop the strategy and deliver a programme of resources to promote and execute smooth succession planning and branch growth through mergers and acquisitions. Coaching and consultancy will be a core part of this role, helping Branch Principals prepare their businesses for an acquisition to support their growth or equally, to prepare their businesses for succession planning or sale.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop the strategy and deliver a programme of resources to promote and execute smooth succession planning and branch growth through acquisitions
  • Utilise existing and develop novel resources to build a scalable M&A consulting solution
  • Be the SME for in-house M&A transactions and succession planning with knowledge of hard and soft metrics needed to succeed.
  • Work with the RM team to support the recruitment process when internal buyers / successors are not available or if external candidates are more suitable.
  • Identify, and work with third parties to further identify, potential IFA/wealth practices who wish to sell and therefore could be acquisition candidates.
  • Create a library of off-the-shelf documentation and marketing materials to support branch succession planning and growth through acquisition.

What you’ll have

  • University Graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Exposure to M&A and managing the acquisition/succession planning process is ideal, with an understanding of how valuations work and the levers that create value
  • Relationship / B2B account management experience
  • Strategic and commercial experience, e.g. having negotiated contracts, sales or sales management
  • Experience in delivering coaching or training
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
