Java Engineer – Trading Exchange – London (Hybrid)

One of the major trading exchanges is looking for Java Engineers to join their London team (hybrid), as they undertake an exciting project to completely rebuild their trading platform.

Established for 130+ years, this exchange has played an integral role in the global economy throughout history. Now their infrastructure is undergoing a major transformation, as they implement a new GUI and FIX interfaces, as well as a host of other system improvements and upgrades.

Experienced Java Engineers are needed to make this vision a reality.

The Role:

As a Java Engineer, you will be involved in both the design and development of software systems and applications. You will be entrusted to influence high-level decisions as part of a skilled cross-functional team, determining the optimal technical standards, platforms and tools to be deployed.

This role requires innovation and collaboration in equal measure, so effective communication and creative thinking is crucial. You will draw upon your extensive professional experience in a Java environment to ensure software meets quality, security, and modifiability standards.

You will also be involved in testing and process automation, ensuring the implementation of best practice throughout.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 4+ years in a Java Engineer role, working with Spring Boot, Microservices and Kafka.
• Experience with various testing practices (TDD, BDD, functional, automation).
• Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (or a related field) is desirable.
