About the IT Director Role:

The IT Director oversees giving the Infrastructure, Applications, Information Security, and Development teams technical direction and oversight. Making sure internal systems and hosted infrastructure are secure, effective, and representative of a top technology organisation should be the top priority while remaining focused on providing service to both clients and co-workers.

Working with the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) and other business leaders, strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role as they challenge conventional wisdom and consider how they can use technology and data to produce more beneficial results for their company and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a technology plan, prioritizing the projects and initiatives based on impact to the company’s market position and profitability.
  • Work with the infrastructure team to develop a roadmap to ensure systems are updated in a timely and efficient manner, leveraging Public Cloud where possible.
  • Work with the End User Computing team to ensure that users are onboarded and offboarded effectively, customers receive fantastic and timely support and onsite support is available at our offices.
  • Work with the application team to ensure all solutions have clear owners and are being carefully managed to maximize the value provided to their relevant business owners.
  • Work with our application team to ensure leaders can access key data to allow them to effectively manage KPIs across the business.
  • Work with information security to ensure security is central to our decision-making, engrained in culture and can be used a differentiator.
  • Own and manage the technology budget, ensuring that we are scrutinizing the costs incurred to manage the technology estate and that we are delivering value to the business.

Ideal Requirements for the IT Director Role:

 

  • 15 years of relevant experience at leadership level, preferably in the professional services or legal technology industry.
  • Proven track record of leading technology strategy in a growth-oriented organisation.
  • Solid understanding of technology and industry trends.
  • Experience operating as part of a team, placing emphasis on fostering a high degree of coordination between functions, communication with senior business leaders and the ability to deliver results in a timely fashion.
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving.
  • Business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Team leadership and development.
  • Communication and building business sponsorship.
