Orbis have partnered with a Head of Architecture at one of the world’s biggest independent financial advisory groups. The organisation provides financial advice and investment/wealth management solutions to large institutions, families, individuals, and governments, globally. The firm has been offering its financial expertise for 200-plus years.

 

 

About the role:

The Enterprise Architect position sits in their new Architectural function, within their IT division. Your responsibilities include:

• Formalise design decisions across Azure-based architecture
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with external parties, e.g. software vendors and research companies, to promote technology innovation and ensure the enterprise architecture is future-proofed and in line with industry best practices and market trends
• Influence IT Strategy, specifically the cloud ecosystem
• Shape initial thinking on project solutions, factoring in internal drivers and external market/regulatory forces

Experience required:

• 5+ years working in IT Architecture (preferably in a regulated environment)
• Experience delivering architecture services to teams operating in both agile and waterfall working patterns
• Excellent technical expertise spanning infrastructure and cloud domains, ideally MS Azure
• Understanding of solution trade-offs such as cost, scope, timescales, and balance between strategic and short-term pragmatic considerations
