One of the largest and most reputable Financial Services firms are looking for an experienced Data Science Lead to lead a team of 5 Data Scientists.

Role Summary

As a Data Science Lead, you will be creating procedures, documentation, and providing tips to aid developers across a range of locations. You will also be leading a team of data scientists and setting technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Leading multiple large-scale projects from a data science perspective, taking ownership, and removing obstacles to find innovative solutions.
• Developing data science solutions and products using data science techniques.
• Developing persuasive proposals in collaboration with technology and business experts, to drive innovation throughout the entire lifecycle with appropriate success benchmarks.
• Acting as a data science subject matter expert, offering guidance to internal and external stakeholders by leveraging extensive knowledge of financial market content, data science, and the company’s data and offerings.
• Networking with a variety of stakeholders and communities, staying informed about cutting-edge methodologies, tools, and technologies.
• Managing senior-level stakeholder engagements both internally and externally to identify issues and use cases, and to translate the business impact of current and completed projects.
• Leading and inspiring a team, while actively participating in projects, coaching and motivating team members, and effectively overseeing their performance when applicable.
• Contributing to strategic initiatives within the Data Science domain and supporting the delivery of training.
• Developing and reviewing highly optimized code for the company’s products and solutions, providing constructive feedback and recommending improvements to team members.

Experience required:

• Extensive professional experience with Python, Spark, and SQL.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory systems such as MiFID II and MAR.
• Experience working within financial services.
• An undergraduate degree in computing science, statistics, maths, economics or similar.
• Extensive experience with visualisation tools such as Plotly or Dash.
• Experience with cloud tools, AWS preferred.
• Experience with tools such as Git, Jira and Confluence.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable experience

• Knowledge of programming languages such as Bash, R or any other widely used object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with visualisation tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
• Experience with market data, such as Bloomberg or Marketmap.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems,
