The Company:
Orbis has partnered with a highly innovative Green Energy company with huge growth potential, focussed on winning the climate race by leading the production of e-NG (electric natural gas derived from green hydrogen). As a Data Engineer, you’ll be supporting the wider Tech function playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to leverage data from various sources into internal data platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand data requirements and design appropriate data solutions.
- Develop, maintain & support the internal data platform, whilst offering technical expertise to internal teams and wider stakeholders.
- Monitor and tune data pipelines for performance and scalability.
- Implement continuous data quality checks and data validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Keep up with industry best practices and emerging trends in data engineering.
- Drive the energy transition with passion and commitment.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or previous experience in a related field
- Proven experience working/managing data platforms and architecture E.g. Data Lake & warehousing design/implementation
- Proficiency using ETL tools and programming languages such as Python, R or Java
- Strong SQL skills with exposure to relational & non-relational databases E.g. NoSQL
- High level of flexibility with the ability to take on multiple roles within projects when needed E.g. Data Architecture, Analytics, Data Governance
- Familiarity with Data Governance principles and best practices is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience working across the Azure Ecosystem (Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, Cloud Storage) is preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering effective relationships with colleagues at all levels
- Ability to work under pressure, contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- An Interest in the Energy industry and the Energy Transition is a plus
