Our client – one of the largest, globally recognised universities is looking for a Data Architect to join their team on a contract basis.

 

The purpose of this role is to replace the university’s siloed online and offline user experience by designing and building a new centralised software system that improves the over all end-to-end experience by allowing other university systems to pick up the users data.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Design and Build a software system that stores users Personal Data.
• Understand how the implementation can be phased so that we can de-risk it with a more iterative approach.
• Understand use cases where the use of the digital integration hub approach would be unsuitable and the best way to handle those use cases (e.g. data integration, MASA etc).
• The target integration solution should be able to cope with some of the current systems (e.g. CIRCE) having maintenance periods when they are being updated and are in read only mode, without effecting the user experience.
• DSE based applications should be able to cope with high volume.

 

Skills and experience

Good understanding and experience with:

• Modern application development and integration approaches (APIs, microservices, messaging and event driven architecture etc).
• Modern application development patterns (CQRS, event sourcing).
• Application and database change data capture and data replication – challenges, approaches and tools.
• Various technologies required to ingest, aggregate/transform and provision data for consumption via APIs.
• Real-time data integration and provisioning.
• NoSQL databases.
• SAP and Microsoft technology stack in the database, integration and security domains • Data liberation patterns to extract data from legacy applications and data sources such as events, data replication (query-, log- and table-based).
• Knowledge of Ingress database.
• Experience with Azure.
